Pittsburgh International Airport

The Allegheny County Airport Authority operates both the Pittsburgh International Airport and the Allegheny County Airport, with more than 8 million passengers traveling annually. Chartering a course for reinvention, they wanted their new identity to reflect their outlook. Leaving misconceptions behind and moving “onward,” the Airport Authority felt strongly that their new brand be modern and fresh — making Pittsburgh International the most envied origin and destination airport. The concept for the logo uses an map marker “pin,” to really emphasize that Pittsburgh is both a key origin and exciting destination for travelers all over the world. Inside the negative space, a plane flying onward can be spotted, to reveal that the Airport is reaching new heights when it comes to success.
